Leontyne doesn't look too friendly. Tired and a little distant, but with a noble tinge. For that matter, Hyacinth looks a bit like s/he(?) is ready to slam a door in my face. Not pettily, just to get rid of me. Something about the set of the mouth, I think. And the tilt of the head. Not an inviting pair, overall. xD

What sort of farytale to the come from? The sort involving evil faires and wishes, the sort involving spirits and spectors, the sort involving Babba Yaga, a blend, or a different sort entirely?

He's not friendly.

I think this picture turned out weird.

In the fairytale Leontyne is the King of the Spiders in a world that has 6 kings. His wife, Montserrat, like many female spiders in the world, intends to devour him after the manage to produce an heir. At first Leontyne is very passive about this, but when he falls in love with the assassin, Hyacinth, he changes his mind. Basically, he ends up murdering Montserrat and convincing Hyacinth to dress in women's clothing in order to take her place. All goes well until Montserrat's daughter leads a war against the six kingdoms and causes the Spider kingdom to be completely destroyed. Everyone but Leontyne dies and he falls into near madness. He and the other five kings hold a meeting and Leontyne offers to take all of their emotions of sorrow left from the war and carry them himself so that their kingdoms might progress without further delay. Then he retreats to what is left of his kingdom, becoming sort of a sleeping beauty in the ruins of his castle.

Thats basically the opening premise of the story. The really story all starts with the Princess of Birds, Iliane, finding him and deciding she wants to help.

O_O Wow. What a morbid fairy tale. ^^ Old school. Cool.

So how does Iliane intend to help? Seems like a pretty insolvable problem, to me. Well, I guess the solution is to help Leontyde get over losing everything and five additional guilt complexes. >> She's got her work cut out for her. Is it a friendship? Romance? With set tasks, or sort of a hit-and-miss proposition?

Have you got it worked out that far, or am I being annoying? ^^

Iliane discovers that Leontyne's love one's were not murdered like his armies, but instead Montserrat's daughter has entrapped them in strange locations all over the 6 kingdoms. Hyacinth is in a music box, for example, and Montserrat's daughter (yet to be named) uses him against his will to fight Iliane.

Iliane is in love with the falcon prince, Sprezzatura, but she is enraged at how the princes of the 6 kingdoms allowed Leontyne to take all the sorrow upon himself, so she feels like she is obligated to help him. At first Leontyne hates her and wants nothing to do with her, but then she proves to him that his loved ones are still alive by leading him to where Hyacinth is trapped. She then convinces him to travel through the kingdoms in order to reclaim the ones he loves so that he will have the strength in numbers to rescue Hyacinth (whose music box is guarded closely by yet-to-be-named woman)

Sounds interesting. ^^ How many loved ones does Leontyne have? You speak in plural, but I can only think of one I've heard of.
:iconrunewolfe:
he has Hyacinthe, his son, his personal knights that were his guardians, his priest who raised him, and his court musician who was his best friend.
